Abstract
Bamdzh wetland of Khuzestan Province is at downstream of Shavvr River. Its area is approximately 4 hectares. Due to the loss of wetland area, especially in recent decades, this study investigated the effects of a five-year drought (2007-2012) in the Shavvr region and the pond ultimately. Also the comparison between the satellite images and remote sensing technique has been used and was estimated water level variations and vegetation zones of the pond for years 1991, 2002, 2008, 2012. The results of precipitation, discharge and wetland area in the above durations have reduction 40, 10, and 35 percentage respectively.
